Eugenie Bouchard won gold at the 2009 Canada Games in Prince Edward Island. It was the start of a meteoric rise that would see her become the first Canadian-born player to reach a Grand Slam final. Bouchard has also achieved success away from the court, gaining worldwide popularity as the face of some of the world’s biggest brands.

“Sid the Kid” captained his native Nova Scotia at the 2003 Canada Games in New Brunswick. Two years later he was picked first overall in the NHL Draft embarking on an accolade-laden career that would see him win Olympic gold in both Vancouver and Sochi, establishing himself as one of the sport’s all-time greats.

As one of Canada’s greatest Olympians, Andre De Grasse made history at Rio 2016 by becoming the first Canadian sprinter to ever win three medals in a single Games. It wasn’t the first time the Markham, Ontario native had taken home a trifecta of medals however. Just three years earlier at the Sherbrooke 2013 Canada Summer Games, De Grasse also claimed three gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m events.

In 2007, Marie-Philip Poulin represented Team Quebec at the Canada Games. Now a three-time Olympic champion, she leads Team Canada as one of the top hockey players in the world.

In 2005, Katarina Roxon represented Team Newfoundland & Labrador at the Canada Games. Now a five-time Paralympian and a Paralympic champion, she’s one of the longest tenured athletes on Team Canada.

Aged just 22, Belfort is a Canadian athlete who’s leaving a legacy both on and off the court. A wheelchair basketball player since the age of 11, he represented Team Quebec at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, securing the Bronze medal for his province with an epic last-minute buzzer beater. Away from basketball, Belfort has also participated in three Wheelchair Bodybuilding (WCBB) competitions.
