Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off

In April 2018, eight celebrity dancers will be cutting a rug in benefit of the Canada Games Celebration Plaza through the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off 2018. As a non-profit organization, the opportunity to partner with the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off will assist the 2019 Canada Winter Games in their mission to deliver a life-shaping Games experience.

Hosted since 2012, the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off is an annual event where eight celebrities pair with a professional dancer to learn a routine over six months. The celebrities then perform their routines in front of hundreds of people and the winner is chosen based on the score of technical judges, celebrity judges and votes from the crowd. The Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off has raised over $2.1 million for local charities in the last six years.

The Celebration Plaza will be a legacy left to the community by the 2019 Canada Winter Games where cultural events and activities, inclusive play, community events and celebrations can be hosted in the heart of downtown. The Celebration Plaza will be an accessible, celebration space that will create a more attractive and vibrant downtown where people can meet, gather and play for generations to come.

This year’s celebrity dancers are:

  • Cari MacLean, Honorary Co-Chair of the 2019 Canada Winter Games
  • Duane Daines, champion rodeo athlete and advocate for parasport and accessibility
  • Mellisa Hollingsworth, bronze Olympian skeleton medalist
