Untold Story: Hunter Smith

June 2, 2017

Hunter Smith is a 16-year-old wrestler from the Cochrane Cowboys and is set to represent Team Alberta at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

He started wrestling in grade 9 and has been passionate about the sport ever since. Hunter is always looking to improve, as evidenced by his training schedule which sees him travel four hours, four times a week.

He attends a very small high school that has never had a wrestling program. That being said, he has had great support from his school, community and especially his family throughout his young wrestling career.

He is a two-time provincial champion and a two-time national bronze medalist.

As the Games approach, Hunter looks forward to competing against the best in the country in Winnipeg but is also focusing on keeping his grades up in order to go to University.

We look forward to watching Hunter compete in Winnipeg!
