Untold Story: The Hornibrook Family

June 14, 2017

Team New Brunswick's Baseball Assistant Coach Paul Hornibrook and his family have a long history of participating in the Canada Games, both as athletes and coaches.

Paul, was part of the 1985 Canada Games Baseball Team as an athlete and this year has come full circle to attend 32 years later as an assistant coach.

His oldest brother Dwight was part of the NB Canada Games soccer team in 1981 as an athlete and returned as Head Coach with Team NB in 1989.  Dwight is now head coach of the women's soccer program at Cornell University.

Paul's sister-in-law Donna Hornibrook played in the 1981 Canada Games for Team PEI as a field hockey athlete. She then was named Head Coach of Team NB's field hockey squad in 1993. This team won Gold during these games with a dramatic come from behind win against BC.  Donna is now in her 15th year as head coach of Cornell University's field hockey team.

Athlete to Coach is a real trend in the Hornibrook family.
