Since 1984, 263 Canada Games alumni have gone on to compete at the Paralympic Games and have won a combined 60 Gold medals, 43 Silver Medals, and 43 Bronze medals. Brittany Hudak, who competed at the 2015 Canada Games in Prince George, BC for Team Saskatchewan in Cross Country Skiing, went on to compete in the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games where she brought home a Bronze medal for Canada.

Despite the frigid air, NextGen athlete Brooklyn McDougall of Team Alberta was on fire in the long track speed skating events at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. As a 2015 Games alumna, McDougall came into the competition with specific goals and a relaxed approach.

From February 15 until March 2, 2019, over 3,600 participants, 4,600 volunteers and 26,000 visitors enjoyed 19 sports and 10 nights of cultural entertainment as part of Canada’s largest multi-sport and cultural event for youth-the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
