We have all felt sadness, frustration, and anger at the harmful acts directed towards the Black community that have been highlighted in recent weeks.

The Canada Games exist to strengthen the fabric of Canada through the power of sport, and that comes with the responsibility to ensure that the Canada Games are actively anti-racist.

We are taking a hard look at ourselves and the Canada Games movement.

We don’t have all of the answers, but we are committed to listening, learning and amplifying the voices of  Black people, Indigenous people, and other marginalized communities.

Meaningful changes to come.
