The evaluation team, chaired by current Canada Games Board Member Evan Johnston, will be visiting the community this week. The visits will then be followed by CGC Bid Evaluation Committee meetings.
The evaluation process included Phase I; a review of the potential community's technical components (Sports Venues, Games Village and other key venues) to provide a report to the CGC Bid Evaluation Committee. During Phase II, the CGC Bid Evaluation Committee assessed the Comprehensive Host Community Bid Proposal and will now conduct site visits. These site visits allow the bid community the opportunity to reinforce their information, add value to the written descriptions in the bid proposal and answer questions posed in writing from the Bid Evaluation Committee upon receipt of the bid proposals.
Once the CGC Bid Evaluation Committee has conducted a thorough site visit, it will provide a final report to the CGC Board of Directors. The final recommendation from the Board of Directors will then be delivered to the Province of PEI and later announced publicly by the Council and the Province in October.
